You're quite right in that I haven't seen any direct comparisons on  
the same subject matter between the two lenses. But looking at the  
pictures you've showed and comparing them with my DA14 examples (and  
others), I see less rectilinear distortion in the DA14.

The DA14 reaches its peak performance between f/4.5 and f/5.6 in my  
experience, but it's quite good even wide open (as you can see from  
the examples).

I figure that either I become a full time lens tester or I give it up  
and take photographs. ;-) They're both darn fine lenses.
