A couple weeks ago I inquired about manual flash guns for off camera use. I've pretty much decided on the Nikon SB-24 (Adam's right, they're built like tanks) if I can find one or two that look like they have less than 200,000 miles on them. If I can't when I'm ready to buy, then I'll go with the Sunpak 383. Meanwhile, I'd like to start playing with off camera flash with some of my existing hardware. The only Pentax dedicated flash I had (a cheapie my wife picked up in the sale bin) died a horrid, internal rattle type death recently. That leaves me with a Vivitar 2500. Best I can tell trigger voltage is in the 10 to 15 volt range. I haven't actually measured mine yet. I'm not too worried about this with the PZ-1, but I'm hesitant to wire it up to the K100D. Am I safe, or should I hold off until I have a better flash gun?
Thanks, guys (and gals)! P.S. - Godfrey mentioned a Promaster dedicated hot shoe to pc adapter. Any other recommendations? I'm assuming these are fairly simple devices, and that buying the over-priced Pentax branded adapter isn't worth the extra cash. -- Scott Loveless http://www.twosixteen.com Shoot more film! -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
