If I use the auto stuff I don't have to think about it at
all - that's a plus,
but if the UPDATES change the way I use the computer, I
dont' want them.

If all the updates that are automatic are about security,
I'm fine with that.

But you will forgive me if I have gotten a new computer and
within two days 
I'm getting a message that I should "update" the system.  

I won't really be on my new server until tomorrow.  

I just really hate what the internet has become - another
form of "entertainment"
peppered with commercials ad nauseum.  

Sadly, I have to use it or I'd really be out on the street
with a shopping cart.
