Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

I ended up taking the 28-105, But unfortunately I didn't have either
the time or the opportunity to take it out of my bag.

It was an interesting trip, and I have my memories of the sights. And
that's good enought for me.

The best part was the flight home. Business Class seat, I could
seriously get used to that. ;-)
