I use this reasoning when "discussing" digital cameras with
the easily wow'ed folks around here, too. Along the lines of
"I can scan a good 4x6 at 300dpi and have as many pixels to
work with, plus the advantage of being able to work with "real"
optics during the image making stage instead of some 1/2 inch
pieces of glass performing barely credible renderings of the
scene in question."
Usually to no avail, as they tend to be blinded by the
"immediacy" of their digital toys.
