NO, you don't understand the KEY difference, CANON
EOS is a much better mount than FD ever was and its
Better than Pentax has now. CANON users got something
In return for the design change. Pentax users are
Getting ZILCH in return because there is no new mount
Or new mount features. DUH.

For the fourth time.
There is also no reason why Canon could not have accomodated FD users,
either by greating a mount that could use an adaptor to allow FD use
(Pentax managed that marvel of engineering 10 years earlier), or they
could have continued to make a quality legacy body to allow use of FD
lenses.
They chose to do neither, which flies in the face of:

"You fail to understand the signifigance that

Which is what you said earlier in this thread in relation to Pentax.

John, I look at what you have put forward in this debate.

On the one hand, you say lenses last practically forever, and that long
term support is of utmost importance.
On the other hand, you say Canon did the right thing by dropping support

for FD lenses almost immediately after introducing the EOS cameras.

One or the other can be the truth, but not both.
I'll let you decide which one is the lie, and you can get back to us.
