There is no real benefit from this, in my experience. You can try this 
by shooting a cripple-mount film body with a pre-A lens (-50 or, I 
think -30, the -60 just does not fire). In that case, you need to 
explicitly dial in over/under exposure or set the ISO from the body. 
It was so unwieldy and error-prone that I ended up buying a -5n.
