Indeed.   Last night I was at the annual awards dinner at the
Computer History Museum.  I was just checking out the room
beforehand when a fellow photographer (also shooting for the
museum) cursed when the lighting went up; red and blue lights,
and about the only hope for anything white in the picture was
the floral centrepiece on each table.  He was really worried
about getting a good white balance (the museum wanted JPEGs).
He was shooting with a pair of 1Ds MK IIs.  I just set the D
to auto-WB, and let it get on with the job.
Mind you, he had less difficulty with focus; I occasionally
found that the D didn't want to lock on (a dark room, almost
all the men in formal attire, etc.).
