HAR!!!
The base is thinner, but made of a much stiffer material.

The film is held in in a method quite similar to how Fui holds 35mm fil 
onto the spool. There is a small double tine forklike tool used to 
remove the film from the magazine.
The film can be removed and returned to the magazine wihout using 
anything other than this tool, but it is a bit difficult to explain how.
