The Sigma EF 500 ST flash unit does not support P-TTL flash IIRC and  
therefore won't work in dedicated TTL mode with the K10D. The $80  
difference in price is worth it, if you're buying a flash unit to use  
with the automation features.

If you're not, then just get a Sunpak 383 ... virtually same power  
with swivel bounce head, just in-flash auto metering, and less than $80.
