My speculation; In launching major products like K100D and K10D, they want to have a simultaneous global release, perhaps for the marketing reason (stronger impact), as well as to keep importers/distributors happy by treating them equally (at least on the surface)?. Imagine what might happen if B&H (i.e., the U.S.) are allowed to sell the new products one month earlier than anyone else. There would be a lot of unhappy/angry importers, some of whom might even refuse to buy Pentax in the future? I believe it's all about the "market order" :-). Yes, if Pentax were alert enough to anticipate the popularity of the K10/100D a bit earlier, they would not have announced certain release date, only to delay it in a matter of a few weeks. The people never would have complained. But Pentax have not been used to "overwhelming orders from all over the world" in the last couple of ;decades". But what the heck, next month is fine with me. I only hope I can get it before Xmas if at all possible. Patience is the virtue of all PDMLers, is it not? :-).
