The faster processor is a later generation technology. It produces a  
better performance improvement than the small change in clock rate  
might suggest. Worth $250? Hmm, likely but hard to say.

BTW: for an iMac, buy the biggest hard drive you can afford. It's not  
too hard to change out the drive by yourself, but if you have to have  
it done it might cost less to just get it with the biggest available.
