That's one way.  The only drawback to doing things that way is if you have
your photo cropped/framed very precisely and close to the edge.  Then using
Image - Canvas Size may be a better alternative with Photoshop.  Of course,
the prints can also be double matted, which makes for a rather elegant
presentation.
