I've done plenty of what I consider to be low light work and never  
used much more than ASA 800-1000 in film, and that only in very very  
unusual circumstances. With the *ist DS, as I said in another  
message, I've got maybe forty exposures out of thousands at ISO 3200,  
and not a lot at ISO 1600 either. Most of the time, when the light is  
poor, I use a tripod.

ISO 800 and an f/2.8 lens seems to work just fine for me with indoor  
shooting in general. ISO 400 is also mostly workable too.

Different strokes. I'm sure the K10D will be fine anyway.
