Jaume - I forgot to mention something that I think is important.
If you use point and shoot cameras as they come out of the box, they are meant to do as much thinking for you as possible. This takes time and makes the cameras slower than they need to be. My A10 is set to Spot focus. I use the spot focus, hold the shutter button half-way down to lock the focus then re-frame and take the shot. The flash is set "always off." I don't like surprises. If I think I need the flash I turn it on. I believe these small setting changes help most cameras respond a bit faster. I'm also willing to believe it's my imagination.
