It's not "one little blip", Tom, it's their half year figures.

And it's nice to see them beating a forecast, even if they had earlier
downgraded it. But you, I suppose, would prefer them not to beat it.

Sales increased by 7.7% over the same period last year, mainly due to
digital camera sales in North America and Europe. Digital camera sales
increased by over 10% (despite lower prices) and the Imaging Division made
a profit of 229 million yen compared to a loss of 1,569 million yen a year
earlier.

Cash and near-cash increased by 51%, to US$ 186 million, which means that
they are not about to go bust.

What, pray tell, is wrong with saving money by cost-cutting measures? Do
you think they should waste money?

You can read it all on the web-site. Then confer with Herb, and come back
and tell us what is so bad. If you can find Herb, that is. If his
prognostications about Pentax were as accurate as the "analyses" that
earned him a living, he may be sweeping the streets.

John
