FWIW: Fry's has an in-store special going on Seagate 500G external drives in enclosures, supporting USB 2.0 and FireWire 400. 500G, 7200rpm, 16M cache ... $239. You can get a little cheaper on line if you hunt, but I'm happy enough with this series enclosure that I bought a second one to twin with the one I got a few weeks ago.
