I must admit, I'm still reeling from today's events, and perhaps I'm not thinking
straight.

But, what you say of the ancient Romans, and how they dealt with the "terrorists" of
their time, is exactly the way that Israel deals with suspected (emphasis on
"suspected") terrorists today. How often do we read of razing houses of
suspected terrorists. Whole towns are "sealed" if terrorists are suspected of
residing there. Suspected terrorist enclaves are bombed with missiles.

This is the world that Palestinians live in. No trial, no Rule of Law, no "innocent
until proven guilty".

How well has this worked? Has it stopped terrorism?

It looks more and more like it was an Islamic fundamentalist group is behind this, not
Palestinians. This group may well be located in Afganistan. But they (if it was
indeed them) see such treatment of Palestinians as an affront against
Muslims everywhere.

Seems to me that killing innocent people, the family and relatives of suspected
terrorists will only strengthen the resolve of the monsters who are behind this. They
already (rightly or wrongly) see themselves as victims. Victimizing them
more will not be a viable solution.

regards,
frank
