My brother has the 300D (I have the DS) and he is completely satisfied with it. But when we're in a group-shooting situation and I handle his camera, I'm amazed/disappointed at the sluggishness of his camera and I keep needling him (he's usually a technophile who likes getting the latest of everything) about why he has yet to upgrade his camera to something that actually RESPONDS. I think you'll find that the DS (and DS2, and K100D) is/are WAY faster than the 300D!
