As luck would have it all three packages with my; K10D from Amazon, 4GB SD card from Newegg and the grip from B&H all arrived at the same time. I am anxiously waiting for the battery to charge but I am fondling my new toy.
The K10D is pretty big sitting next to the *istD. The accessory grip feels a lot bigger in comparison to the grip for the D. The D-BG2 is thicker and has a much more squared contour at the bottom that the D-BG1. While not uncomfortable it is not as nice to hold as the D in portrait orientation. I have pretty small hands and find the D pretty comfortable to use. The K10D is rather roomy by itself. With the grip it feels much larger that the D. For all the D owner who are worrying about the fit and finish compared to the D. I will agree with the other comment. The K10D is fairly equal to the D in build quality. One thing I do not like about the K10D build is the rubber cover for the grip contacts. The sliding door on the D is a better solution. I am afraid the rubber cover (which has to be completely removed to fit the grip) is going to be lost. If anyone wants side by side shots let me know.
