I just received my grip today. I love the K10D with the grip, but I'm a big camera guy. I was shooting almost nothing but 6x7 before I went digital. After a week of using the K10D, I feel the it is superior to the D in build. The surface is much more tactile and grippy. The protrusion on the right makes a better handle.
