On 2/12/06, Bob Sullivan, discombobulated, unleashed:

>Can you have a checking account over in the UK?
>Maybe different banking rules apply.
>You guys sure won'ttake my US checks...

What you call a checking account, we call a current account, Bob. Sure.
I have two current accounts, one business, one private. With my Paypal
account, I decided just to lodge a credit card with them, and not lodge
my current account info - this means I can accept Paypal payments from
registered Paypal members who have a current account lodged. If someone
buys from me using Paypal, and they too just have only a credit card
lodged, then Paypal won't allow me to accept payment. if someone with a
current account lodged pays me, then the credit shows up on my Paypal
account, but i cannot transfer it to my credit card (and effectively use
it as cash). In this case, I show the credit in the Paypal account, and
can use it to buy something else (perhaps from an eBayer) using Paypal.
It's effectively money laundering ;-)
