I have found that "as new" items almost always go for
a premium especially when they come in original boxes.
In fact, I spent more on my A400mm f5.6 for this very
reason. As for whether or not the camera is really
"worth" $400...well, no. I'll bet the buyer is just
looking for a "new" K1000 and is willing to pay for it
(as were the others who bid it up). And I'll bet the
camera gets used instead of being put on a shelf
somewhere.
