I format and error check my CF and SD cards on my PC, I've never had a problem. The in camera format isn't a "real" format, it can mask card problems as it's not a thorough format. The only card that I've seen suffer adversely was an Olympus xD card, it has non-restorable data on the card and a PC format/write crash will render it unusable in the camera (but fine for any other purpose), POS system. -- Rob Studdert HURSTVILLE AUSTRALIA Tel +61-2-9554-4110 UTC(GMT) +10 Hours [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~distudio//publications/ Pentax user since 1986, PDMLer since 1998 -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
