Rob,
It's a competitive market place.  Imagine what happens if Nikon or
Canon introduced a 10mp camera at a price point 15% below Pentax.
Suppose they get wind of Pentax's success and decide to 'buy' the
market...starting tomorrow!
You can't count on anything when you're a Chimp wrestling with two Gorillas.
