They might have hoped for that response, but to make business plans based on it would have been risky - far too risky, in my opinion. After all, the PZ-1p and the MZ-S were both fine cameras; far better than any of the competition at the same price point. But if Pentax had planned on selling those in breakthrough numbers we wouldn't be arguing today - Pentax would have gone belly-up.
