I second that, it's more like an MX in a K1000 shape. You even have mirror pre-fire which is not a feature of the MX (yes I know you can cheat but officially it is not a feature).
Indeed a common problem is the little mirror for the arperture reading in the viewfinder. Also the way the needle work is much nicer than K1000 IMO. Just get one. I don't use mine often but when I do I really enjoy it.
