I'm betting on a very good price from Pentax.  The *ist-D was continued 
as the top body on the Pentaximaging web site until just before the K10d 
introduction.  I expect that Pentax dumped their remaining stock at 
bargain prices to make sure they weren't stuck with them.  It would have 
been the smart thing to do, and they seem to be doing a fair number of 
smart things lately.
