Of the two, I prefer the MX. But beware of meters that don't work or 
won't turn off. It's an excellent camera, certainly among the best 
Pentax film cameras ever made. You can also get a motor winder (or 
motor drive)  for it, which is a nice plus. Even with the winder, it's 
still a compact camera. To  my mind, the only Pentax film camera that 
betters it is an LX. But the LX is much more fussy and prone to 
problems.
