I agree with Godfrey.

However, you can be lucky.  A couple of days ago I was removing the DS with 
off-camera flash attached (via a bracket) from a monopod.  Unfortunately when I 
thought I was unscrewing the monopod from the bracket I was actually unscrewing 
the entire camera set up - which proceeded to fall about 5 feet to the floor.

Both camera and flash appear to have escaped unscathed both functionally and 
cosmetically.  Not so the off camera flash cable - broke the connector on one 
end clean off.
