The comparison is only in that it is very hard to beat a nation into
submission. America failed to do it in Vietnam. The Soviet Union failed
to do it in Afghanistan. The only way to do it now would be with a
massive nuclear strike.
I can only hope that you're not advocating the annihilation of Afghanistan
in retaliation. As someone pointed earlier, many Afghanis are fighting a
civil war against the Taliban. To indiscriminantly attack and destroy
this country would not only punish many innocents but would be an act of
lunacy that would almost certainly lead to World War 3. Is that what you
really want?
