Dear PDMLers,
(I was going to hold off with this because of the nature of disaster that
many of the PDML contributors are going through at the moment. I'm still
unsure if it will be received perhaps as well as it might in a week or
two's time, but judging from the list traffic at the moment, it might
provide suitable diversion in a very dark moment in the world's
history...)
After much thought, I have decided that if anyone would like to meet up
in London, and I am going to organise it, I will need some more time to
do so, as I am firmly of the opinion that if a job's worth doing, it's
worth doing right. Except when under the influence of alcohol when, let's
face it, who wants to do any work at all?
If anyone else wants to step in and co-ordinate any meetings in the near
future, sure I'll come along - put me down. But as far as receiving
international PDMLers is concerned, people who perhaps travel a long way,
perhaps as part of a greater tour, will want pretty firm arrangements,
more or less set in stone, so that they can work around dates that will
not change.
I propose a 'Grandmother London 2002' weekend sometime in the late
springtime of next year - perhaps after Easter time when days are warming
up slightly. I am willing to help co-ordinate activities, accomadation,
and photographic requirements - in fact anything that needs sorting, I
will do it, but I need that precious thing that, the older I get, seems
to be alluding me the most......time!
If anyone is interested, can they please email me direct:

with any dates in 2002 that YOU CANNOT make. I will start a file with
interested names on so that any information collated can then be
distributed accordingly. I would hope to come up with a firm date
certainly before Christmas, more likely within 6 weeks, so that those who
are travelling some distances, can make firm plans that they know will
not change.
I would expect a PDML event to take in a whole Saturday and probably a
Sunday morning for those stalwarts requiring extra punishment. A social
event on the Saturday night is a must - surely a highlight. The choice of
venue would depend on where people are coming from / staying, but Central
London has many photographic opportunities, also many socialising
opportunities (hic). I'm sure I can come up with suitable activities and
areas of interest that your time would be well spent. Who knows...could
be the start of something big?
If you want your name added to the list (only for 2002) please let me
know and I'll report back soon.
All the very best (especially to our US brethren, and anyone else in
mourning during this difficult time),
Cotty
