I popped my head out, looked left and right and no bullet flying for now. So, I sub'd back again:-). Anyway, regarding DR... I set it like you are doing (knock, knock, every time camera is started). I shot blue sky but have not seen any dust/specks yet. However, I do not like any noise. So, I will switch to manual. Pentax recommended to leave DR on. They said that the mechanical durability of CCD was discussed and confirmed with sensor manufacturer (presumably Sony) and add their own margin, and they sounded fairly confident. Most, if not all, DSLRs produce a lot of dust internally for the first several months or so probably because dust, paint specks and all those things from new parts. After that, it should subsides. I might just switch to manual and check dust once in a while. Incidentally, I just encountered a blog by a camera journalist who was invited to Pantax's plant in the Philippines (Cebu Island) where K10D (and others) are being assembled. This is a scene of K10Ds being cleaned. http://ca.geocities.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/CleaningK10D.html He says this is a cleaning stage after all final inspections have been completed and each camera is cleaned very meticulously in a fairly clean room. I somehow doubt that they take that much time and elaboration to clean it "individually", but that's what he says. To me, it looks more like some are taken off the assembly line for special correctional cleaning. Otherwise, I have to agree why Pentax cannot keep up the demand ;-). However, considering some reports and my own experience that not much dust problem has been experienced yet, they may be very attentive to the cleanliness of the plant.
