I was arguing HDTV from many standpoints:
* Its picture quality is WAY WAY better than analog ever was and now
cheaper than
the crappy old analog tvs from even 10 years ago.
* The original poster I was replying too said it
was just a big "cash grab" scam and that the picure
quality wasnt really any better or worth it, in fact he even
claimed that DVD was as good or better that blu-ray and HD-DVD.

*I never said everyone should buy it , but I still
believe though anyone who watches video should be watching HD by now.
If you dont watch video fine, but if you do, what
good reason is there to watch it on an old crappy
set when you can now get these much much better
ones and for very affordable prices to the AVERAGE
person. Sure there are some people who might
not afford one, but there are always some people
who cant afford anything. Most people now spend
more than $600 a year and up on cable or sat but these
same people cant afford a really good HD set
that costs way less per year even assuming a
short 5 yr product life? I simply dont agree.
HDTV set purchase is an outstanding home
entertainment value at todays prices and thats
why I still stand by my "bargain" and "no brainer purchase"
description of it.

Lastly, dont proceed to criticize me for reposting
this stuff and clarifying my postion, because I didn't bring it
up again, you did. Good Day,
jco

You don't have to accept it. You should, however, realize that
others might have a wildly different point of view and an opinion. That

doesn't make them wrong, just different from your viewpoint. When you
express your *opinion* as FACT and then argue with those who don't agree

with those "facts," it incites anoyance.

The HDTV "argument" was particularly obtuse. Yes the picture is

better... quantifiably so. Yes the prices have come down... they are
still not cheap. You fail to understand that for a lot of people, TV is

not very important... whether the picture is NTSC or IMAX, it doesn't
matter to them. It's a *personal choice* on their part that you need to

be able to accept and understand.
