While likely a good thing for Pentax, it is the end of Pentax as we know it, i.e., they are no longer the business entity they were before, just as Minolta is not.

I have a distant recollection of something like this being predicted several years ago... of course this couldn't be occurring due to Pentax's relative weakness in the overall DLSR market...
