Dave, let me add that I was basing my answer on my experience with the film body, MZ-S. In that case, the "A" lens was required. I was successful with the "A" lens on the K10D, but I have sold all of my non "A" lenses, so have none to try. You said you had found it not to work with "M" lenses, so, that MAY still apply.(?)
