I found myself with no other plans and with more than a week free, so I decided to drive south from San Francisco tomorrow. I want to make it to the border and see what's in the north of Mexico.
Any recommendations from the group? I was thinking to stay in the mainland--not go to Baja. Maybe cross at Tecate, then go to Hemosillo or something like that. Advice of all kinds welcome. If any PDMLer is somewhere along my way (101 south to San Diego, then after the border I have no exact idea where I'll go) and want to meet, that'd be great too.
