Hehe.. No, it was just included to set your argument in a context:

Funny thing, that's exactly what I have tried to encourage you to do
too. If you have done the arithmetics, why don't you save the rest of
us the trouble? If the numbers are so soothing as you claim, maybe
they would run in favour of your view?
If you haven't, then please stop issuing it as homework to others.

Sorry about that, Graywolf. I hope you know i don't have any grudge
against you as a person. The arguments you've brought to this
discussion really has wound me up a bit, I'll give you that...:-) But
it has very little to do with emotional states on my part.
