Your experience with K10D exposure mirrors mine. I had dialed in +.5  
compensation right out of the box, but found it excessive. I'm now  
usually right at meter exposure. Of course unusual scenes may require  
more or less. Like you, I'm pleased with the write and buffer  
performance. Haven't had to wait for the camera thus far, and I must  
be at the 2000 exposure mark.
