If we are. In my opinion, even the gods can not control the weather. The 
idea that we are in control of everything is ludicrous. One needs to 
take responsibility for what one does, feeling guilt for something that 
one has no control over is insane. One needs to identify just where the 
line between the two is, and that is not something that is easily done.

I recycle and make do. I keep the temperture at the lowest comfortable 
level in the winter and the highest comfortable level in the summer. I 
use as little gasoline as I can reasonalably get by with. I do not 
replace something until it no longer does the job, and try to find 
castoffs rather than buying new. My level of of consumption is probably 
1/10th of what those who are preaching at me is; so fuck them, I am 
still going to take long hot showers!
