Hey all

Here's a question for you. Have any of you experienced metal shavings
inside of your lenses? I have a 50mm 1:1.4 and it appears to have a small
sliver of metal on the piece of glass directly below the outer lens(in the
center, of course). It is about 1mm long and a quarter of a millimeter
wide, and I am quite perplexed by it. It doesn't show up in my pictures
unless I take a picture of the sky or something with one color, but it
bothers me a great deal because I'm not sure how it got there. My father
said it was probably a small piece of the metal casing of the lenses, and
after trying to coax it out by bringing a magnet near the outer lens, he
suggested I bring the lens to someone who could professionally disassemble
it and remove it. Since it's not ruining my pictures, I'm not very
concerned about removing it, rather, I am simply curious as to whether or
not anyone else has run into the same problem.
