I use the Eclipse Methanol / Swab method. I've done it maybe 8 times - ultimately it got to be old hat and then, remarkably, the sensor stopped getting too dirty for the blower to handle.
This was on an *ist-D. Reading one of the translated interviews here on the K10D, I noted that a reference was made to coating the sensor with a special anti-dust coating. I made a note to myself to be sure to check that the K10D sensor was OK with the methanol - I'd had to partially dissolve some sort of coating. Probably not an issue, but it's worthwhile to be careful. (I once cleaned the ground glass in my LX with an alcohol / swab setup, and decided to do the same with my Pz-70. Only to discover that the plastic "ground glass" in the Pz-70 fogged up on exposure to denatured ethanol - resulting in a trip to Pentax for repair. So - it pays to check things out...) - MCC Russell Kerstetter wrote: > I have a couple specks of dirt on my sensor that I cannot break free > with only my blower (brush removed).
