The problem with camera bags is that they either don't hold enough equipment, or they hold enough that you can't carry the darned thing. I have a few Lowe-Pro Trekkers of various sizes that I use to carry bulk equipemnt, and then a smaller Lowepro that I actually take with me. I'm a fan of photo vests as well. They look a little geeky, but they work well if you just want to carry a couple of lenses and some small bric-brac.
