Well... Coca beans are picked by poor South American workers making less than US50c/day for evil multi-national companies.
Said workers get fed up with the low wages, so in hope of a better life, they illegally immigrate to the US. They reside & work (taking low paying job's from US citizens!!!) in neighbourhoods dominated by migrant's from there home country. They also refuse to let go of the customs of their homeland, and make little effort to learn (US) English. All of which makes the lives of the English speaking people they happen to come into contact with, mildly difficult. So you see Shel, chocolate is a very divisive & politically charged topic.
