Including the word 'circuit' changes the statement completely.

I can agree with this from a theoretical point of view. However, my  
practical experience is that both CF and SD are very reliable, it's  
only when you deal with cheap junk that there are problems.

"Friends" in this context mean the four or five hundred photographers  
on the several local photo associations and organizations I belong  
to. Looking only at forums you will see a preponderance of complaints  
even about things that are perfectly all right.
