I can vouch for both the CompactDrive and the Epson devices - I have
an Epson P-4000 now. The CompactDrive is a great no-nonsense option,
like Bruce said. The Epsons have the best screens of any device out
there, if you care about that sort of thing. One nice thing about the
CompactDrive is that it takes rechargeable AA's, while the Epson takes
a proprietary battery that you have to charge in the device. Also, if
you decide you want to upgrade the drive in your CompactDrive, you can
do so on your own. I don't think the Epson is user-upgradeable.
