The same can be said for the DA14. It is sharp even wide open, but it  
achieves it's best sharpness across the field around f/4-5.6. Test  
examples at a variety of lens openings @

BTW, I did test the DA14 with the Pentax MX. It nicely covers a 24x24  
negative, producing a field of view much like a Hasselblad SWC.
