I actually live in Cedar Park right now, but I also lived in Round Rock
for several years while I was an indentured servant employee at Dell.

I have! And I agree, Big Bend is gorgeous. It's BIG too (who would have
guessed?) I've actually been more than once and I doubt I've seen 1/10th
of the park.
Actually, now that you have me talking, my one harrowing photography
story happened at Big Bend. After managing to somehow drag myself up to
the top of emory peak. I saw a lady bug at the base of a pile of rocks
near the very top of the mountain. I was bending over to take a picture
of the little lady when a rattle snake buzzed at me from the rock pile,
not six inches from my face!
I can't be sure, but I'd swear an oath that snake was 50 foot long with
glowing red eyes, and had half a dozen 'photographer kill badges' in the
shape of little cameras painted on the side of it's head.
