You might need to run the uninstall program, then delete the driver's directory manually before reinstalling the driver. Companies have gotten better about that sort of cleanup in their uninstall programs, but there sometimes still are uninstallers that don't really get rid of everything. I don't know where those print settings are stored on OS3, but under Windows they'd likely be in the Registry, and likely would not be deleted when you reinstall the driver. They might or might not get deleted when you remove the driver, depending on how well Epson did their job on both the installation program and the driver itself. That said, I have had situations in the past where I had to run the "uninstall" sequence, then open up the file system finder/explorer and delete the driver directory (often after rebooting because the driver is still loaded). Under Windows, I've even had to manually go in and get the driver's settings out of the Registry to sort a problem. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the Macs, so I can't help with where you might find the driver files or settings. On a Windows machine the files are often in C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Windows\Drivers or a subdir of them. The settings are typically in the Registry, but exact locations can vary pretty widely. >> These prints are off as well, but in a different direction. Wow, that's freaky. You surely implied it, but I don't know if you said it ... prior to this problem, was the R2400 making "matching" prints of the same photo when you printed from the two different machines? >> Since these err in a different way, should I assume it's a >> computer or software problem? Should I try reinstalling PhotoShop? >> Could it still be a printer problem? Tough questions, I believe. At this point, I'm not sure any candidate has been completely disqualified, except maybe the ink cartridges. :-) Maybe check the printer's manual and see if there's a way to "reset to factory defaults" all of its settings. If the printer allows it, it probably involves turning it off, then turning it on while holding down some of the buttons on the printer. -- Thanks, DougF (KG4LMZ) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
