By chance I took a look at B&H's page on the Pentax 1.4x-L teleconverter today. There's a list of compatible lenses, but several are marked as "Fits, but better performance can be achieved with other versions." I assume these are lenses that would work better with the 1.4x-S converter.
I was surprised to see the A* 400 f2.8, F* 600 f4, and A* 600 f 5.6 on this list. Oddly, the FA* 600 f4 is not so noted. See - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&Q=&is=USA&O=productlist&sku=40608 and click on the features tab. I mostly use the 1.7x AF adapter with my A* 400, but bought the 'L' TC's for use with it. Any thoughts on whether the S is really better with some of the long glass? - MCC -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mark Cassino Photography Kalamazoo, Michigan www.markcassino.com - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
